Welcome to CPJHS Visual Arts Dept. 2017-18
I am so excited to get our second year of art off the ground at CPJH- students ( new and returning), parents, teachers, and community!
My name is Julie Schulte. I have been teaching art in Tomball ISD for the past eight years; five years at Northpointe Intermediate and two years at Willow Creek Elementary. From 1997 through 2009, I taught art courses in varied K-12 settings including Pacific High School, St. Bridget of Kildare Catholic School, Clayton High School, and Berkeley Middle School in the metropolitan area of St. Louis, Missouri. From 1999 through 2004 while my children were toddlers and I stayed at home, I designed and ran community based art enrichment classes and camps from my personal home based studio, The Backdoor Studio. Additionally, I spent a great deal of time designing and orchestrating intergenerational, community oriented art shows and events. During many summers I also run nature based art camps in my neighborhood and in the Woodlands. This summer I had the pleasure of visiting different areas of Hawaii with my family for three weeks.
I hold a B.A in Art Education ( K-12) from Maryville University in St. Louis, MO. I also have a minor in Fashion Design from Rhode Island School of Design.
I look forward to further building of an exemplary visual arts program with your students and our learning community. Please let me know if you have an expertise to share or want to support the growth of our program. Please see our Visual Arts Calendar and Wishlist.
